Woke up, realizing – IT’S SEPTEMBER! Challenging, keeping focused on my breath during my pre-dawn walking meditation when so jazzed about BIG happenings this month, kicking off on Thursday with …
AGING2.0 – Pint-0, 09/07, D.C. 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. ~ ~ ~ John & I are day tripping from Philly down to D.C. for an evening social gathering of Aging2.0, with folks from the local chapter AND Aging2.0’s San Francisco HQ. If you are in the Phila area & need a ride, give us a shout.
Aging2.0, kicked off just five years ago (co-founded by the world-shaking KATY FIKE & STEPHEN JOHNSON), throws down the gauntlet for tech movers & doers to take apart the challenges of aging, to find ways & means for oldsters elders ancients to better navigate their way through & around them.
Why go so far for such a short time? 1) Its stated purpose ~ it’s “international, interdisciplinary & intergenerational ~ focused on changing the conversation from 1.0 (focused on local, clinical, siloed approaches) to 2.0 (collaborative, lifestyle oriented, opportunity driven)” ~ is what we are all about. 2) We have skin in the tech game, having officially launched Cyber Access for the Technically Timid this week (!); CATT is about as low tech as it can be & still involve digital services, but tech it is. 3) Being there adds these two grey beards to the awesome Aging2.0 inter-gen mix.
“The Aging2.0 Washington, DC Chapter invites you and your colleagues to join us for drinks and networking on Thursday, September 7th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Vapiano’s in the heart of Chinatown! We are excited to have team members from our head quarters in San Francisco as well as Aging2.0 Alliance members join us, making this a coast to coast evening of fun. To learn more about Aging2.0 Alliance members, visit https://www.aging2.com/alliance.”
Looking ahead with Aging2.0 – OPTIMIZE, Nov 14-15 2017 San Francisco ~ ~ ~ Sigh… Oh, to be back in San Francisco in mid-November for the annual Aging2.0 OPTIMIZE Conference. In its low tech way, Cyber Access for the Technically Timid is cutting edge, certainly innovative (allow us a small bow) & targeted straight at the aging upward.
Starting THIS month, aka right now, Aging2.0 is accepting volunteer applications – great way to get your oar in AND receive discounted registration fees.
